Welcome to Fort Leonard Wood, headquarters  for the Total Force's Maneuver Support Center (MANSCEN).  The Mission of MANSCEN is to provide the Nation with values-based individuals, leaders, and teams trained in basic combat skills and chemical, engineer, military police and transportation disciplines who are prepared for success in any future environment.  MANSCEN develops concepts, doctrine, force structure, material requirements and experiments to ensure the vitality of the Chemical, Engineer, and Military Police Regiments.

Established in 1940 as a basic training center, Fort Leonard Wood, has launched the military careers of over three million men and women.  In addition to engineer basic and advanced individual training, known as One Station Unit Training (OSUT), the 1st Engineer Brigade also hosts the Engineer Officer Basic Course (EOBC) and Engineer Officer Advanced Course (EOAC).

The 3rd Training Brigade trains over 16,000 soldiers annually in three phases of basic combat training.  The Patriot phase provides orientation and soldierization, including the Army Core Values, military customs and courtesies along with drill and ceremony.  The Gunfighter phase teaches weapons training while the Warrior phase teaches individual tactile (hand to hand combat) training.  These three phases of training consist of nine weeks.

The 3rd Chemical Brigade operates the U.S. Army Chemical School to provide safe and realistic training experience designed to create "chemical veterans."  Through the use of toxic chemical agents, the training instills confidence in chemical soldiers and demonstrates the reliability of chemical defense equipment.  The Chemical Defense Training Facility (CDTF) also trains Marine, Navy, Air Force and allied students on operations in a toxic chemical environment.  As part of the MANSCEN transition, the 58th Transportations Battalion has been incorporated into the 3rd Chemical Brigade to teach 14 different military occupational specialties including Motor Transport Operator Course, construction equipment operators, plumbing, technical drafting, material quality specialists, constructions surveyors and demolition.

Fort Leonard Wood is now the proud home of the U.S. Army Military Police School which provides training to all branches of the military as well as government agencies and U.S. allies in areas of law enforcement, field tactics, human rights, Counter-Terrorism, Family Advocacy, Counter-Drug Operations and Force Protection.

Additionally, the MANSCEN NCO Academy hosts the Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC), Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course (BNCOC), Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Courses (ANCOC) and Drill Sergeant Schools.

Fort Leonard Wood is the home of Walker Museum, also known as the U.S. Army Engineer Museum, featuring exhibits on the history of Fort Leonard Wood, combat and topographic engineer exhibits, a World War II compound, as well as weaponry, demolitions, airborne and amphibious exhibits.  Over 100,000 people visit the museum each year.  The popularity is expected to grow with the future addition of Chemical and Military Police exhibits.
